Theme of the Week – Nickelodeon Days

Theme of the Week is a post where we ask readers like you to comment with ideas for a particular theme. What ideas and suggestions do you have? What game, craft, apparel choice, theme meal, evening activity, special event, song, skit, or anything else would you do at camp if your theme was…

Nickelodeon Days

Below are five ideas. Leave your suggestions in the comments area below.

  1. Run challenges like on Double Dare. Make sure you have slime. Here are two ways to make the slime – borax or jello.
  2. Have staff wear costumes of Sponge Bob, Dora the Explorer or the Power Rangers.
  3. Decorate with lots of bright colors.
  4. Carly loves her Gummi Bears on iCarly. Create contests using Gummi Bears.
  5. Create cool science projects and call it the Jimmy Neutron Project.

Obviously, after some time has past, the suggestions here will be a bit out of date. The point is to find activities that can relate to popular shows on Nickelodeon.

  • One summer when I was program director we did “Old School Nickelodeon Night” as an All-Camp evening activity. Campers were told to wear cloths that could be ruined and staff dressed up as characters from Doug, Clarrisa Explains it All, Rugrats and other 90’s era shows. We had the theme songs playing over the loud speakers and had different stations set up, from a slip-in-slide (the Rugrats’ Raptor had thrown up and they had to clean up before the parents got home–throw up was left over food from dinner) to shaving cream art, trivia, relays and all kinds of stuff. It was a blast and the kids & staff loved it. We had to hose everyone off after, but it was by far the best all-camp of the summer.

  • Great Idea! I contacted Nickelodeon numerous times about two years ago …..hoping they would be intetested in some way. NO RESPONSE:( I have so many ideas!

    Good Luck!
