Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year. With the lights, the trees, the gifts, the cookies, and the time spent with family and friends, it’s pretty difficult not to feel the magic of this season, unless, of course, you’re planning on throwing a Christmas party this year.
Believe it or not, according to some new research, “31 percent of Americans describe the holiday season as “frantic.” Some of the biggest sources of stress include gift shopping, crowds and lines, knowing what to get people, cooking, and the pressure to have the perfect Christmas.
Of course, there can also be plenty of pressure to throw an awesome Christmas party for your friends and family. So one way to make your Christmas party this year even more memorable is to include some fun games for your guests on top of impressing them with your delicious cooking, baking, and festive decorations.
Before choosing, planning, and setting up your game for your home or office Christmas party, here are some things you may want to consider.

Pin the Red-Nose on Rudolph
Much like Pin the Tail on the Donkey, except of course, you’ll be having the kids pin on Rudolph’s red nose.
- Create a reindeer cut out from brown poster board and tape him up on the wall.
- Draw on eyes, a mouth, and add some antlers.
- Create some noses for each child from the leftover board.
- Have them line up. When it’s their turn, blindfold them, spin the child around, and let them give it a try!

For the Whole Family
Christmas Tree Relay
Supplies:
- Two small Christmas trees or two miniature trees set on two tables
- Ornaments
- Strings of Lights
How to Play:
- Provide a large number of ornaments and enough lights to decorate your tree.
- Place a Christmas tree on either side of the room or two miniature trees on a table.
- One by one, team members will take turns decorating the trees with ornaments. The first team member will be responsible for stringing up the lights. The team that decorates their tree the fastest wins.

Elf Drinking Game

- Every time Buddy eats something with sugar – chug for 3 seconds

For Work Events
Christmas Story Pass and Grab
- Take any Christmas Story (Twas The Night Before Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A Christmas Carol, etc.) and add the words right, left, and across into the story.
- Read the story out loud.
- When one of these words is said, pass the gift according to the directions.
- When you’re done reading the story, you keep whichever gift is in your hands.
Gift exchanges are a great way to celebrate Christmas with co-workers, just be sure to set a reasonable spending limit for gifts!
