Theme of the Week is a post where we ask readers like you to comment with ideas for a particular theme. What ideas and suggestions do you have? What game, craft, apparel choice, theme meal, evening activity, special event, song, skit, or anything else would you do at camp if your theme was…
Hollywood
Below are five ideas. Leave your suggestions in the comments area below.
- Have your photography campers play paparazzi with other campers, following them and taking pictures.
- Create a movie that can be shown at the end of camp.
- Have an awards show with campers as the nominees. “And the horsemanship award goes to…”
- Roll out the red carpet for the awards show, a dance or a special dinner. Then line the carpet with camp staff playing crazed fans, photographers and reporters.
- Do a Lifestyles of the Fun and Fabulous show. Choose a couple of staff and have the cameras follow them for a few hours or at different times of the day. Then have a Robin Leech sound-a-like do the voice over. Show it at the end of camp.
You can have the kids do hand prints like the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
@Kelly – Great idea! It seems you can do this with paint and butcher paper or you can do it with clay for something more permanent and as a souvenir to take home.
Here is what I did a while back for our “Club Hollywood” Camp theme at the Boys and Girls Club!

Good stuff, Brenda. It looks like you just started your blog. Congratulations. It looks great.
Thanks Curt! It’s a work in progress.
Create a big paper TV Frame and have kids take pictures inside the TV frames. We can add speech bubbles made from paper. Kids can hold an Oscar statuette .
