Get Organized with a Program Director’s Notebook

Do you find it hard to keep track of all your ideas, games, resources, etc? Create a Program Director’s Notebook to keep all your best stuff in.

Get yourself a big notebook. I suggest one from an office supply store that has sections with pockets. Or you can get a binder and put paper and as many sections as you want.

Here are some suggested sections:

  • Daily Notes (parent concerns, how many kids at day camp today, disciplinary actions, etc.).
  • Conference/Workshop notes
  • New activity ideas
  • Resources
  • Training notes
  • Summer overview
  • A list of quick play games
  • Emergency activities (for when plans fall through)
  • Rainy Day programming (The weather can wreck well-established plans and having a list of activities handy will be a sanity saver.)

Thanks to Cindy Grant for this idea.

What other sections would you add to your Program Director’s Notebook?
