Here is a wonderful program for your devotions time.
In the morning listen to Johnny Reid’s song Today I Am Going to Try to Change the World. Then read If I Could Change the World for the Better, I Would… from the Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul book.
Next, ask the kids to think of how they would change the world if they could. Have each of them write it on an index card or draw a picture. At the end of the program, read them allowed so that they can hear what their fellow campers would do to change the world.
At the back of the room, have a big world with the words “Today I am Going to Try to Change the World”. Then hang their cards up around it for them to read and think about.
This will be a rewarding and meaningful program for not only the campers but for the staff and the
counselors as well.
